Change thickness TWD drawer box BUG

Post by Josh Rayburn »

Good morning,
Steps to create problem:
open job
create twd file
change material thickness: YES
change "3/4 4x8 pre finished maple 2-side ply" to 0.720
do not change anything else
OK
nest in CN (5.48)
print sheets
look at drawer box front and backs and bottoms, they are the wrong size for cabinet batch # B3, there are three drawers
Any additional info needed, please advise.
Thanks,
jnr

You are running an older version of Control Nesting. Please update to the latest version and see if the problem is still there.

Hi Daniel,
Were you unable to reproduce the error with the current version of control nesting?
Thanks,

Hi Daniel,
After further investigation, I'm finding the error prior to creating the TWD file. Here's what I did:
Load job
In materials setup, I added a new sheet stock called ".720 testing" with .720 thickness and 48x96 sheet size, grained
From the batch, click 'change sheet stock'
change "3/4 4x8 Pre Finished Maple 2-side ply" to the new ".720 testing" material
Nest job
Drawer box fronts, backs, and bottoms for cabinet B3 are the wrong size again
After the material change, I brought B3 from the batch into the cabinet editor and here's what I see: :(

What is the cabinet's actual name in the batch list? I'm not seeing a cabinet in the batch that looks similar to that.

I found the cabinet and you do not even need to change the material thickness to get what you are seeing. If you take the cabinet straight from the batch to the cabinet editor, open the construction settings and then click okay, the cabinet will throw the drawer boxes in the back like what you are seeing. I will pass this on to the software engineers to see what they can find.
