frustrating nest problem

HI. Could someone please explain why the 34mm shelf on the second sheet
will not nest on the previous sheet when there is clearly enough space.

It looks like the file you posted is an empty job. Can you post the cabinet file (.hsf) or Assembly file (.esa)? Also, what are your nesting settings? Cut Line/TrueShape, Horizontal/Vertical, Collar Value?

OK try this. ive tried with horizontal and vertical and true shape with 5mm collar ime sure all the 34mm
componants should be able to be cut from a single 2400 x 1200 sheet. John

It will nest the 34mm parts on one sheet for me if I set the nest to Cut Line (Vertical). What do you have set for your <True Shape Nesting Cutter Diameter> and <Saw Blade Kerf> settings? I have .375" (9.525mm) for both. The Saw Blade Kerf is used when Cut Line is selected. If I remove Grain from your material, then it will nest Cut Line for both Vertical and Horizontal, but I am sure you are probably wanting grain set.

These parts are to be cut for me on a cnc. I have my tool width set at 8mm.
Yes i do need to have the grain set. Can i use cut line for cnc operation? Iwill try nesting that way
and see what happens. Thanks John.

OK Ive tried a few combinations. True shape horizontal gives me all my 34mm parts from 1 sheet but
then my 19mm parts uses 3 sheets. True shape vertical gives me my 19mm parts on 2 sheets but still
uses 2 sheets for my 34mm parts. Going back to my original nest ( true shape horizontal ) and my
original question, there is clearly enough space on the 1st sheet for the single shelf that carries
over to the 2nd sheet why does this happen?
OR is there a way to nest different sheet thickness parts from the same job in different ways, to get
better yield.

You can use the filter to select only certain thickness materials and nest only those parts. This will allow you to nest different ways.
