Moldings on cabinets with scribes

Post by Leo Graywacz »

Just came up with what I think is a bug

I am trying to put a molding on a cabinet that has a 1 1/4" scribe on the FF. I apply the scribe setting to the molding and it works for the front pc but the return stays at the edge of the box instead of moving over and staying on the miter of the front molding.

This used to drive me crazy as I build the same way.
You could create an applied end out of another cabinet front ( door inset in ff ) and rotate it 90 degrees then attach it.
Or you could put a partition where your end is now and move your end out to the edge of the 1.25" scribe.
The molding stops at the plywood. Its a big pain.

Leo,

It has always been this way. If you have a scribe you must manually add the side moldings or in the case of applied end panels, add your molding to that end panel to create the side.

Funny I never detected this before. I use scribes all the time. I guess it is only on lower cabinets and not floor to ceiling. Well OK, not a bug, but there should be an option to make it follow the cab or connect to the other miter when there is a scribe number in the box.
