CN 5.71 jobs undersize by 20mm!!!!!!!!!!!!

we are facing many serious issues we have lost ajob recently as customer pulled back the order and thermwood techs cant say anything so far the post is open inthe forum and have submitted all the relevant files, but we lost it as tooo long delay for the customerand no response from thermwood

now again today we have a job where we need to cut curved plinths 120mm wide few with 8.5mm slots
and we have programmed and cut shapes we were having 20mm overall size shot we only got 100mm wide plinths

we thought we may be wrong in drawing so redraw and cut again and again also same issue 100mm only.
32mm 8x4 2 armour grey boards scrapped

now we thought there is a bug in 5.71 so started to use with dxf direct and there is big isuue here toooooo
outline is ok but pocket tool is searching for 203.2 diameter tool inspite of setting it at 8.0mm tool so its multiplied by 25.4 and in imperial 203.2 so cannot use this dxf option again

iam attaching all the needed files please thermwood techs have to look into this asap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


whats wrong the CN keep giving troubles and down time and scrap jobs and at the end we loose orders

Mohan, I have done some looking into your problem you are having...If you look at "sizefromtwd1 and 2" pictures you can see that the code from the machine is outputting the right dimensions. Is it possible that the wrong tool is in the holder? The measurements/code show up good here and is being compensated with a G42 which is correct according to the "Conventional" tab you have selected.

About the DXF file....the dxf file you have EXMOUTH PLINTH LH.DXF....we can see you have d8p0 tool defined to cut with (picture dxf_8mm_layer),

but in tooling there is no 8mm tool set up...There is a 7.8mm tool set up and your tolerance is at .2mm. With this settings we are getting the error..(This error message is indeed incorrect >>it should read 8mm tool), but it is still looking for the 8mm tool.

If I change the tolerance in tooling to a little bit past .2 to .21 then it nests fine as is.....

If we set up a 8mm tool and leave the tolerance as is at .2mm then it nests fine also...

Also, if we take out the d8p0 in the layer name then it nest fine as well

I hope this lets you nest with DXF option and everything should be okay...once we get your New export file we can take a closer look as to why the part would be cutting undersized, although as we have verified that the code is being output correctly.

first of all thanks for the support

i have seen the images and it looks fine from your code and looks like you are checking it on a different version thm software which could be producing correct code
can you please check exmouth plinth.cnc.txt from the attachments (rename to .cnc) and see if it is correct code generated as we dont have the toolpath verification software then you will know the code is wrong

ihave also checked this tool holder and setup its all set ok and the tool diameter is 9.5mm i have uploaded the cab file but can also check herehttp://www.thermwood.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=12928

coming to dxf same issue there is no problem on you CN but on our CN its showing the tooling error please look at the image in this post tool asking for 203.2mm tool instead of 8mm.

all my ways are closed

please find a solution as we are loosing confidence on this machine every time every new job we take we are into issues

correction in my cn settings as you said .21 group tolerance had given the way clear to nest the job and only through dxf but not through ecab and twd

please go through the issue and see wheter or not you can find an bug in CN for ecab and twd

Mohan, We checked your cnc file and created new ones various ways with layered dxf file and creating the part in eCabinets using the DXF file to cut the part... we have checked multiple scenarios using your dxf file as a layered dxf and creating the part in ecabs from the dxf by cutting the part from it and all come out correctly...what is happening in your cnc file you sent is that the RH parts are being comped in the wrong direction(G42) whereas the LH part is being comped in the correct direction. We can verify this with our simulation software..

..You didnt say if some of the parts were okay but by looking at your cnc file the LH should be good whereas the RH and solid should be the 20mm undersized because of it comping in the wrong direction...Can you repeat the steps you used to create these parts in eCabinets...We have tried to mess it up by doing various things but cannot get it to output incorrectly....We have brought your DXF file in and mirrored the geometry in Contour mode to cut part and it still output code correctly...We have taken panel into the part editor and flipped it to the back view and created(cut) part from the back view and it still outputs correctly..It has to be something where certain steps are being done to generate incorrectly. Hopefully you can create this scenario again and we can look into it further..
