batch and layout problems

Post by Brandon Harrel »

Forgive me on this, im a NEWBIE, first post so far.

When I have a finished layout or design, I need to be able to batch all the cabinets in the drawing to a list or batch. I can designate each cabinet a price and manually set it in a batch in itself without a drawing or layout. but I cant do it manually because the drawing is gone. is there a feature that allows this option to go directly from a highlighted layout to a batch list? so I can itemize, price and organize for each customer??

Hi Brandon. Welcome to the forum. There is currently not a way to send cabinets from custom layout into batch. If you click on the icon with the $ sign at the top of your screen you get three options Cost sheet, Cost listing and selling price. These reports are based on the settings you have set up in the define cost section in settings/Preferences. I am not sure if this is what you are after or not. By the way if you have not already subscribed to eCabinets online videos I strongly recommend that you do. They will help you get on your feet very quick.

Brandon,
There doesn't appear to be any easy way of getting this information without manually manipulating a file.

There are three reports, but none of them get you a batch list as you described it and none of them would contain the sales price for each cabinet in a list.

The earlier posting by Scott Marshburn that suggested using the Cost Reports. There are three reports and none of them list the cabinets, at all. You are given information on the cost of the cabinets and finally, the total sales price of the cabinets.

There is a Sales Proposal report. This also does not breakdown the cost or sales price of the cabinets individually.

Then you can get a Cut List. While the Cut List does not contain anything related to the monies, i.e., cost or sales price, it can get you a list of the cabinets. To do this, click on the Cut List icon, then click on the Export to Excel link. It will create a spreadsheet, that by default is named "cutlist.xls". You can name it whatever you want. Open the spreadsheet. At the bottom of the spreadsheet you will see a series of pages. One of the pages will have the sheet components. The last column contains the name of the cabinet and a bit more info on the location (data path) of the cabinet on your computer. Since there is a row for every component of each cabinet, you would need to delete the extra rows. After that you could enter the price that you want for each cabinet.

This is doable, but I think tedious.
