Does anyone have ideas/tips for cutting 12' laminate sheets on a 5' x 8' router? I know it can be done and has been done on my router, by the previous owner. I no longer have contact with them. I'm sure it's a matter of lying to the machine(as we need to do from time to time), and indexing the material to jog it on the "X" axis for a second cut. Any help would be much appreciated.
I am only using eCabinet Systems software and do not have a moving gantry. There are tools at the end that will make things interesting. I am going to cut these parts for another shop and will know more about what is needed later today. That should help in finding a work-around solution.
You're on the right track. We've done it many times, and it is just a matter of removing the toolholders, sliding the material on through, and re-indexing. The tricky part is getting the second cut to line up nicely with the first.
