Must be Monday. I opened ECabS this morning, altered an existing cabinet, then saved it as a cabinet in its job folder. I wrote the TWD file from the little CNC button in the cabinet edit toolbar (left, on-screen) then tried to generate the cutlist from the create cutlist toolbar icon. Up pops the window, but the button for save/opening the excel sheet has disappeared! I loaded the cabinet into a batch and saved the batch file. repeated the steps to generate the cutlist, but still no button to open/save the excel file.
I've restarted ECabS and my computer, to no avail. Some Gremlin in there? Has anyone else ever experienced this?

Been searching my computer to the two KB's for Windows 7. Can't find them in Control Panel or in the registration database. Where do you find them to uninstall them?

The issue that is getting me, is that Windows 10 Home edition (the one that is on my work computer) has no way to disable the auto updates for windows. I found a work around (WUSHOWHIDE) but for some reason the uninstallation of the KB4041691 always fails. And since my restore points fail also , all I can do is just wait for MS to fix their fix.
There MUST be a way to get ECabS cutlist raw data exported. The raw data is there, I can doctor it up to export to any spreadsheet or database. I just can't seem to get at the raw data without that button.

I worked for Microsoft for 7 years. When we got reports of applications not working after an update/upgrade, 99 times out of 100 it was because the application developers had bypassed the application programming interface (API) provided by Microsoft and started making calls to functions that resided in lower levels of the operating system. Microsoft always reserved the right to change anything below the API. If applications used the API, and didn't bypass it, compatibility was assured by Microsoft and if an application broke MS programmers jumped on it immediately to fix the problem, or even go so far as to provide a custom function call just for that application.
I suspect one of the lower level libraries that eCabs uses bypasses the API. This is what breaks applications most of the time.
At least this has been my experience. I did get out of software development about 17 years ago, so I'm pretty sure a lot of things have changed significantly since then...
I am not sure if this will work for those who can not turn off windows10 auto updates. I have noticed that when I generate the eCabinets cut list it sends it to the temp folder at C:\Users\Public\Documents\Thermwood\eCabinet Systems\temp without having to click on the export button. You could open the cut list file from there.

Well, I'm afraid this doesn't seem to work for me, running windows 10 home. This solution (the temp file) is what I was hoping for when I talked to Dan @ TW when I called and asked about it. He told me that MS is working on the patch.

I tried opening the file and Excel says it is corrupt and can't be repaired by Excel. Not sure why....
Wondering if there has been any movement on this. It seems like MS has washed their hands of the problem, the tech support that I contacted @ MS had narrowed the problem down to a likely bum reference in ECabS. Is someone still pursuing the fix for this?
