Colored symbols on labels

I tried using this label and hit print and then it tried to print 5000 pages with the numbers flying up before I stopped it. any idea on how to trouble shoot? im using a dynmo 450

Thomas, this is a sheet of labels and I bet it won't work with the Dymo 450.

I also tried the new format with the attached result.
Like Thomas the printer started running like crazy and we had to hit the kill switch.
Also using Dymo 450, model 1750.
I tried changing to portrait in settings and it didn't affect the results.

Hi Mark,
We have been using the 10 stickers to a page for a few years now. The advantage is quicker printing, better print quality when you have old eyes and colour over our old thermal printer.
I have a Aussie label supplier if interested.
You can print to any A4 printer just to try it out.

Hmmmmm......... Labels

Now you got me started.
Avery and Post Pack Send labels, silly me, they are sticky, but not very removable, ahhhh derrr..... they are not meant to be removable.

When we started using labels it was exciting.........

Contrary to popular belief I have very little control over how the jobs get done.
The process was supposed to be,
Only use a label if necessary,
Throw away the ones we don't use, (because its a waste of time sticking them on then peeling them off if you don't need them..... right?) Stick them on an unseen face if possible, (so you don't have to peel unnecessarily)
And with cabinets we make, peel and clean the labels that are seen, off, on the bench.

But that seemed not to work......
For what ever reason, EVERY piece needs a label.
Every label has to be where you can see it.
Don't waste any labels, make sure you use them, all of them ....... (even though nobody seemed to care about wasting anything else)

I quickly became sick of watching the guys spend what was more than an hour peeling stickers, tearing strips, then leaving smears when they were using thinners to take them off.
The labels were sticky but not easily removable.
Getting down on your hands and knees, for a pre-delivery setup seemed much more preferable to the guys on the floor.
Heads in cabinets, opening and closing doors, running around looking for thinners and rags, oh look I found another one, scratch, scratch, more thinners and rags, it just seemed to be a whole lot more fun.
For me, it was all unnecessary drama, it should all have been happening on the bench where its much simpler.
Even after the above (for me unworkable process) labels were still getting through and still had to be peeled on site.
That was another one of those fun times you remember.

But yet again.... I digress....

As I said above. We did try the Avery and PPS address labels, they stuck very well but removing them was difficult.
We decided on the dymo because after testing, the labels stuck well but also peeled off easily.
And also I think changing the printing paper for layout and labels was adding to the complications.
Its still another area in the controller I want to spend more time on to fully understand.

Good points about clarity . Thats where the large number could be good.
I don't use colour much because, as a poor little cabinet maker colour ink seems to cost something like over $100 a set if you go with the genuine stuff.

How do you find the labels you use peel?
Its a area which once you get a working system you don't like to change until there are obvious benefits
Perhaps if you post a link to your guy I can see if he does the dymo style ones.
You never know, the US guys might find the 30% per $ exchange rate discount on labels attractive.

Kerry is correct in that the issue is it is set for a sheet. You won't be able to change any print settings to make it work, all of that is stored with the label, and I can't just tell it its not a single label (wish it were that easy). If I get time next week I'll see if I can put something on the 30252 labels. Fair chance there will be some time next Friday, but no guarantees.

If someone wants to post a picture for a good location for the number, it would be worth discussion. The Symbol version of the 30252 label places the picture is shown in the attached picture.

I'm interested.
I like the idea of the big numbers.
I was going to try out your last template to see if it worked better for us.
I just don't understand enough about the labels to give much useful input so I'm going with Jeremy.

Well that was a small can of worms. It should have worked fine as the text is just right justified so it should have built from the right side inwards, but something is wrong with the field. I put banding on four sides of a part, but it would only ever display two. That was using the symbol label is my starting point. Using the standard 30252 Address label, all is well. So I shifted over the two lines and added the field.

Appears to be working now. I need someone to test it though in the event my tests are insufficient.

Works for me with DYMO 400 Turbo. Cabinet number could be larger but this works.

Just tried it, and the cabinet numbers are all off by one for some reason. Cabinet one is marked 2, 31 is marked as 32, etc. I'll keep trying...
