Dowel construction
Hello, i am trying to figure out how to do dowel holes with ecabinets, where are the settings? and where can you determine the dowel hole size?

Re: Dowel construction
Hi Ian. There are no settings dedicated to dowel construction. However, you can achieve this in a couple of different ways.
(1) Use the KD-Rta fastner settings. You can create a hole pattern for the dowel hole.
(2) Use the user-defined operation feature.
(3) Create the dowel holes in the part editor and constrain them in the constraint manager.
Personally, I prefer option 1.

Re: Dowel construction
Ian,
As Scott suggested, OPTION 1 (KD/RTA Hardware Hole Patterns) is the most widely used by our clients in conjunction with a parametric dowel inserter (Omal or other). This combination ensures the holes all align.
Note: When creating the pattern for eCabinet Systems, you only define the hole on the face of the mating part.

Re: Dowel construction
ok thank you, I had already figured that KD/rta was the way to go from what i was able to find on the forums, but I have no clue how to just have the holes for the dowels, and how to choose what size dowel. And how can I create my own hole pattern?
