Trying to setup Cabineo's in eCabinets using the hardware hole editor. I have everything drawn up properly with the yellow holes, and the green rectangles (to do flush mount cabineos you need both), and my machine is only cutting the holes out, not the rectangles/"pockets". They are all in the negative direction, to the right of the X axis so they would bore into the side of the drawer box front/back. The holes drill out just fine, but the rectangles don't. Not sure what i'm missing.
I attached a drawing for anyone not familiar with what a cabineo is. The yellow hole to the left is the bore into the end of the mating KD fastener panel and appears to be in the right location. I can't test without cutting the green pockets as well.

After spending a couple hours playing around with it and doing test cuts, basically it appears that for whatever reason ecabinets will not let you use rectangular holes/pockets with KD fastener joints.
They work just fine for hinge locations (we bore out the front of the side panel behind the faceframe for hing adjustment), and even though it will show the rectangle in 3d model, when you go to nest it and or cut it, they disappear and they don’t mark out the rectangle. Only the circles

Re: Hardware Editor Not Cutting Rectangle Pockets / Cabineos
Well I can't say I've ever come onto the forum to post something and had the very first post be something similar.
I'm getting the pocket to machine just fine. One thing you should change is the pocket should only be the depth of the 16.5mm hole.
One thing that I'm trying to get the machine to do is pocket the entire recessed area instead of drilling the 16.5mm hole and then pocketing the rectangle up to it. If I remove the 16.5mm drill bit from the tooling list it will still do the operations separately by interpolating the hole and pocketing the rectangle.
Maybe Clint will look into it, Forrest

Re: Hardware Editor Not Cutting Rectangle Pockets / Cabineos
Here is my pattern if you're interested. It's set 1mm deeper for flush inset. If you want to use a cover cap you will have to add for that and offset the screw hole as well.
This is working well for us but I don't like how control nest chooses to machine it by separating the 2 operations used to create the pocket for the flange.
It should just sweep in with a pocket tool for the rectangle and radius end together.

Can you send the .ptn file you are using, a cabinet that has it applied, and an export from Control Nesting to cabinets@thermwood.com so I can see exactly what you are working with?StarrCabinets wrote: Wed, Sep 18 2024, 10:14AM After spending a couple hours playing around with it and doing test cuts, basically it appears that for whatever reason ecabinets will not let you use rectangular holes/pockets with KD fastener joints.
