this is really strange i measure all my tools but on the last one when it was doing the medium loop it raised the machine up till it was out of envelope.
any suggestions? can i just add a negative to the z value in line 87?
please see attached program file
Tool sensor is likely dirty or corroded. The machine moves down until the input for the tool sensor is unchecked, then retracts up until it is made. In this case, the input is already unmade so the machine just starts retracting up to make the input. You can try cycling the sensor up and down while blowing with compressed air to see if there is debris trapped in there. If not, you'll need to take apart the sensor to clean the debris or clean off the rust buildup. You can check the input/output screen to verify the input for the tool sensor. Without it being depressed the input should be checked. Once you press it down it should uncheck.
We are having a similar issue with random tool measure lock-outs and other problems. From reading through here a bit I am beginning to suspect a combo of toolman file corruption (T3 gives us the most grief to measure, others are mostly OK, T3 has also recently begun making random daylight adjustments mid-operation which is fun ) and probably a dirty/corroded tool sensor. Can you walk throught the specific steps to test/clean/fix simple plunger-type sensor?
Is your tool sensor the style that has the four bolts holding the yellow plate down, or is it the style where the cylinder is pinched in the aluminum bracket?
