Problem with parts editor since 6.2.12.2

Post by Myk Brown »

Ever since I updated to 6.2.12.2 when I try and make a circle or rectangular cutout in parts editor it no longer gives me an option for depth or cut through when I right click and choose "cut/pocket using closed contour"
I rebooted my computer and it worked yesterday, but not today and I have rebooted numerous times.
Is there an option to convert back to the previous version that was working for me?
I have 2 jobs I need to get done ASAP and both have cutouts and pilot holes I need to make.

Hi Myk

This question is a bit old so I hope you got it working.
I just tested it and It still works for me.
Maybe you were forgetting to use the arrow tool to select the geometry?
Selecting the geometry with the arrow tool turns it orange and then right clicking the cutting dialogue should pop up.

Just a heads up, you can also apply geometry in the contour section. (the button next to grid settings at the top in the part editor)
Apply your geometry, return to the main part editor screen and right click and the "Cut/pocket closed contour" option is available. (The using geometric shapes is greyed out.)
Same result, different approach.

In my opinion, Its well worth the time to become proficient in the contour area, it adds a lot of functionality.
A CNC that cuts basic squares and shapes is good, but to be able to add frills to the squares and create paths and shapes is a big bonus.

I mainly use the contour area to add the geometry, using a few techniques I can place it quickly and accurately.
You can also save and reload the geometry for use on multiple parts.
