Reception Desk
Just finished this Bamboo reception desk! All parts were cut on the Thermwood. Curves were made from stacked archs, not bent. Lots of time! Finally done!

Re: Reception Desk
Very nice work there!
Interestingly enough, C&D have a manufacturing facility up here in Canada located no more than 30-45 minutes away from us. They have a 5 axis Model 70 as well as a couple of CS45s.

Re: Reception Desk
Thanks Guys. I thought it was strange that they didn't make it themselves as they have several Thermwood routers at this location. C and D has expanded to double its capacity in the past 8-9 months! I think they usually cut large aluminum molds for plastic injection. This was a very cool project but a whole lot of work!

Re: Reception Desk
Hey Brian,
Good seeing you again the other day! I was at C&D again on Monday and made a point to check out the desk. Told the receptionist I was the QC dept for the Thermwood owners at large user group and needed to inspect your handi-work, which I did. Needless to say you passed with flying colors and I reported back to my superiors at the user group (they're a sly bunch as I've never met them in person.....) an A+ for your creation, which I believe entitles you to a free cheeseburger at McDonalds. The receptionist loved it as well which should get you a free drink with the cheeseburger. Good job!!

If you sing the Tim McGraw song by the same name I'll make sure you get fries and make it a Double Cheeseburger!

Re: Reception Desk
Great work Brian.
Can you tell me did you veneer directly onto the mdf stacked arches, what was the process after gluing up,
What thickness do the doors end up, what was the thickness of the mdf used for the arches, is the dowel 8mm? This process would save me having to make formers for every
different radius needed.
Thanks John.
