Creating a default door

Post by George L Vought »

How do I set a default door in build 13? I get the door designed but there isn't anyplace that says "save as default". When I pull up the help menu it shows stuff totally different than what I'm looking at. Couldn't help noticing that some of the help coloums have updates for other builds, but not this one.

Is there such a door design as a plain white, 5 pc door with a bead board center? If not how do I create one? I have to admit, I haven't touched this program for a really long time and I'm having trouble navigating

You have to set the default door in the door/drawer editor
1) load a cabinet in the cabinet editor take the cabinet to the door/drawer front editor
2) Click on Door/Drawer selection. This will bring up the door designer window.
3) Under select source select either constoga,Mdf,Slab,or Thermwood. For example if you designed your door with a thermwood door you would select Thermwood
4) Choose the directory that you save the door in i.e.. My Doors
5) Find the door that you created and select it.Then click on set default.
6) Select the opening and add the door
7) Return to main and save the cabinet.

Sorry I didn't get back to you, no excuse, just busy. Does this have to be done with every cabinet? (When I get the cabinet finished I've been putting them in my assemblies folder.) I set the a default door and hardware for the first cabinet, but when I loaded another type of cabinet that I wanted the same door on it gave me the slab door back when I clicked on "add left door" ( int the cabinet editor). I had to to into the "my doors" folder reselect the default door again. I thought that once the default was set that is what would come up for all future cabinets until the default was changed?

You have to set the default door on each cabinet in your library
or you can load the cabinet/cabinets in custom layout or batch. When you are finished. You can select the cabinets that you want to change the doors on. Then in adjustable features select door or drawer front and select the door you want. Then click ok. Then all of the cabinets that you selected will have that door or drawer front.

Ok, going about that all the wrong way.
Slowly it's all coming back to me. It's been awhile since I used eCab. It's amazing how much stuff you can forget. But then again I can't remember how to still ride a bike either  Kept looking for the kick start.
