door / drawer Editor & Materials

Seeking knowledge regarding door / Drawer editor. I'm trying to add additional materials to those already available in the editor. I've tried to add files to the directory manually. But, nothing seems to work. Are there certain parameters I'm missing? Something like file size restrictions? Specific formats? Is there a way to force the software (D/D editor) to recognize new materials? Any help with this would be appreciated. Also, if the materials are somehow limited because of the "conestoga" directory, is there a way to create a new tab with the same Build options, but with out the restrictions on materials?
