More Build 3 bugs?

Post by Joe Dusel »

I have been noticing flaky stuff in the Custom Layout Editor with regard to placing assemblies in a room. If I have an \"L\" shaped room and place an assembly in a room in the wall elevation it goes halfway through the wall, but only on the down leg.

The other problem associated with placing assemblies is that once you put an assembly in a room with regular cabinets if you perform any operations on the assembly some of the operations on the regular cabinets are no longer accessible, like resizing.

Both issues are being looked in to but the first one you list did not originate in build 3 I checked and it is also in build 2. So avoid placing assemblies in elevation view for now.

Thanks

I have also noticed that with build 3, pc performance is at 50%. Takes much longer to do anything within ecabs.

Moving objects has slowed to a crawl.

I tried to reproduce this, but was unable. Specifically, I resized the assembly, then resized the cabinet. Could it be that it is a corrupted assembly or cabinet that causes the problem?

Chris and Mike,

I am fairly new here. Could you please elaborate on your computer system setup? RAM, HDD size, graphics card, etc. I worry about speed issues after plunking a sizable amount for this refurbished laptop. It does great, NO speed issues with Build 3 so, as a user, I am quite interested in your specific problem(s).

I bought a Dell M90 2GB DDR2-667MHZ, 80GB HD 7200RPM, NVIDIA Quadro FX 2500M 512MB with XP Pro and installed V5 Build 2 and could not tell much difference from my Toshiba (cheap) laptop. Now, after instaling Build 3, this Dell laptop is way faster.

I am designing my forst job on it in Build 3 and am encountering some problems that I will post in a seperate post.

Al I just increased 1 gig less than a month ago, I don't know the specs off the top of my head on my desktop. But the speed of my system was outstanding with eCab until the new build. I'm sure team t will rectify the problem soon. (They always do)

Thanks for your reply, Mike.

The following is where I was coming from:

I am very new using eCabinets. My laptop has minimal stuff installed on it, and is basically dedicated to design work at this point. One thing I wonder about is whether other applications might interfere with eCabinets.

I am sure that the eCabinets/Thermwood Team will fix the problem; I am trying to understand what goes on, to try to prevent problems with my system :D .
