Just finished installing these today. These are part of an ongoing project I've been involved in for the past 6 months. the first is a small billiard room bar. It is made of reclaimed wormy chestnut. I had to resaw all the wood from old barn timbers. Ruined 2 sets of planer blades, 1 set of jointer blades, and numerous bandsaw blades. But the result was worth it. The natural beauty of this wood is incredible. As usual, I had a wierd space to work with plus the fact that I had to get a 37" tv in it. The owner wanted the tv on top of the cabinets in the left corner, but that just looked like crap so he agreed to this design and now loves it.

Beautiful work. I invested in an inexpensive metal detector, which helps for working with the reclaimed materials.

Good idea Kevin. Don't know why I hadn't thought of it. I usually buy reclaimed material from a local floor mill and their lumber has been cleaned and denailed in preparation for being milled into flooring. This stuff came right off a 150 year old barn.
