Collar Setting

Post by Damon Nabors »

How difficult would it be to make it so we could add an individual collar setting on individual sheets within a program? Sometimes I need to nest to the edge of a sheet for tall cabinets and othertimes there may be a sheet within the program that would benefit me by having a collar programmed. I have found that my dovetail drawer boxes cut better with a 1" collar. I may be missing something, but normally I will filter out the parts that I want a collar on and have to run the program twice if I want some parts with collars and some without.

Just a thought.

Thanks,
Damon

Hi Damon,

I've discussed this topic with our Software Engineering staff, and was informed that the collar setting goes for the entire nest. It is part of the entire optimization calculation, therefore, it is unknown what parts will be on what sheet until the calculation is complete. Currently, the filter way is the only method available. However, we will make a note to have the nesting settings available per material (not per sheet) in a future version.

Thanks for you input.
