Editing an Assembly in Custom Layout

Post by JohnLashuay »

I placed an object into the custom layout and want to edit it. I highlighted only the display object and clicked the edit cabinet/ assembly button on the toolbar, and nothing happened. I tried to placing a cabinet into the custom layout, it highlighted only it, and was able to edit it.

Any ideas??

Thanks,
John

John,
By "Object" do you mean display object?

A display object is not considered a cabinet or assembly. If you Highlight a cabinet or assembly then select the "edit cabinet/assembly" button, The software will take the Cab/Assy in the cabinet editor so you can modify you cabinet/assembly.

If you want to edit a display object, you will need to open the "Display Part editor". Then load the object from the "Sample .hsf " directory. Note: You will only be able to scale object, and change some material properties (Appearance settings)

Hopefully this helps

Todd,

For some reason I was thinking that you could edit a display object in the last version.

Thanks for clearing this up for me.
