Played around and got it, at least the offsetting lines part (I was forgetting the cursor drop-down menu for "select entities"...sheesh!) I haven't yet been successful at "trimming edges" but I suspect if I mess around enough it will come back to me.

I guess I've spent too much time this year ...

What I did was create the top, then in CE made a copy of it, took that to Contour, created edges, offset the lines in, then offset them again the width of the inlay, trimmed the lines, back out to PE, cut away the inside and outside, took that back to CE, aligned it to the corner of the top, set ...

I'm trying to do a quick rendering of a shaker style hallway table for a client. Just off the top of my head, I would definitely buy a manufactured unit and wrap it to match cabinetry...

For me, EVERY file that is read or transferred from a CD becomes \"read only\" regardless of what it was when burned (Win2K).
Is that not the case in other windows versions? I just got used years ago to globally change the properties of any files transferred by CD...

Usually that DOES actually mean that in some dialog box on the page you're looking at there is a syntax error typed inadvertantly. Sometimes they're easy to gloss over and not see, but I've always found them after a couple of seconds of looking.
