rotatr countertop in part editor

I brought the countertop into part editor to cut out the sink but the countertop appears at an angle on the page . when I try to make a rectangular cutout it is not square to the countertop edge. all other parts I have modified have appeared in part editor square to the page. how do I rotate the countertop on the page so I can make a rectangular cutout?

You can't rotate objects in the part editor.

What you have to do is go into contour mode in the part editor and use the line tool to outline your cutout. Make sure the lines extend past the intersections and trim them using the trim tool.

Then exit contour mode and cut out the shape.
