Hi, I am having some trouble when printing my labels. This only happens every so often and only started after I updated my rolling nest from 4.94 to 5.11. I was told this wasn't a problem. When I print my labels for a job they start printing fine. When they get to about sheet 6 or 7 it pauses for a second and then keeps printing labels. After the pause the labels return to sheet one and strat printing from the begining again. I don't know why it is doing this. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated.

Justin,
We've been informed of this issue. If you could, create the cab file using the export button at the bottom of the control nesting main screen and send it to program@thermwood.com attention Daniel. Please include your contact info so I can get a hold of you.

Hi Dan and Justin,
I've noticed with 2 other clients (Calgary and Quebec) that they are also getting this type of issue. it seems that if the labels slides away from the sensor and it stops it automatically restarts the print from scratch. I spoke to Pete about this yesterday and Ryan knows about it to. Pete says he is looking into it . You may want to speak with him.

Hi Dan, What you said makes sense but what I don't understand is that if and when the labels slide away from the sensor and it stops. How do the labels get back under the sensor when they don't move. If the problem is that the labels are sliding away from the sensor how can it start back up again by themselves. We have unpluged the power to the labeler while it is printing and it does the same thing, stops and starts back at sheet 1 part 1. We have also dissconnected the USB cable while it is printing and we get the same result.

I am looking into this as Dan has pointed out.

This appears to be a classic signal interruption problem. It's the very same thing you get if you disconnect the USB cable or the power. So somewhere along the line it is losing it's signal and when it reconnects it begins the file again. It may just be a corroded or otherwise damaged USB cable or it could be something more sinister. But, until I can reproduce the problem here I do not have a solution.

As soon as I find something I'll let you all know.

I pete we have tried it with a customer changing the usb wire it didn't change anything. What I'm having the client do is get is power source out of the controller just to see if this could help. Once I get some feedback from the client I will let you Know.

Hi Dan and Pete. After trying many things which you have told us to do. We have fixed the problem. We purchased a new label printer. This has so far fixed our label problems.

 Well, that wasn't the approach we were going for, but I'm glad you are up and running. Just out of curiousity, did you try to unistall the old printer and re-install it before buying the new one?

Hi Pete, No we did not uninstall and re-install the old printer because we don't have the software for that printer.
Another question since we are on the topic of printers. I just went to print a small job and my barcodes for flip operations did not print. I got an error which said \"there are no barcodes to print for this nest\". I am running rolling nest 5.15, I just installed it two days ago. Could this be the problem?

Justin,

If you email the job to me here at program@thermwood.com, I'll have a look at and see if I can afind anything. To my knowledge we have had not flip op barcode problems with v5.15.

Hi Pete, I have talked with the cnc automation team and have figured out that since we use metric here, that was causing the problem. We have gone back to v5.13 for now. Thanks for your help.
