Yay! Board Ft. Info in new ver.

Post by Peter Walsh »

Just checked the new 5.1. The board ft. calculations seem accurate on the whole job. Previously, I got erroneous totals when trying to include multi-cab assemblies in a room and then running the costing program.

I do have a \"quirky\" though. Since the last upgrade (12), every time I click to bring up the program for normal use, Windows program \"install\" pop ups appear which I cancel. After three cancels, the program starts and runs normally. I was hoping this upgrade would eliminate this problem but it still exists.
Also during the latest ver 5.1 install, the install pop ups were telling me that it was installing ver. 5.0, but 5.1 is what got installed. Weird.

On a previous contact to Thermwood on the program startup pop ups, they told me to delete the program and re-install. When I went to delete the program using the Windows add/remove process, the delete process ran for thirty minutes before I canceled the process. It seemed like it was erasing the whole damn drive. Canceling, resulting in thirty more minutes of reversing the process.
Anyone have any ideas on this? My Registry screwed up?

Hey Peter

I think your suppose to use the V5 disk to uninstall the software, or are you just trying to delete 5.1?

As far as I know, the eCab program should de-install by using the Window install/de-install program That should clean up the registry etc.

Peter

Had some problems with the software in previous versions and anytime I had a problem I would just pop the disc in and do and uninstall or repair and that seemed to do the trick. The Windows uninstall didn't work for me for some reason, But maybe your problem goes deeper than my fix. Maybe one of the computer experts on the forum has some insight. All the best.

There is a registry key that stores the installer status--but I don't recall what it is. I'll see if I can find it for you.
