I took this 'box' to the line drawing editor to check my dimensions (inside)
and I got these two readings. One is taken at the bottom and the other at the top (and then dragged down just to show the difference) The material used is 20mm all round. Here is the drawing as well as the cab. The cab will be used to transport a server with the dimensions W=262mm H=460mm and D=688mm

You have your measurements set to 3D. This allows you to measure any point on the cabinet also your cabinet is slightly rotated I can tell by the dark lines in the far left on the display board and the right user created part that must be a handle.
I shall try the 2d dimension measurement later. BUT...
I did not rotate the cabinet by hand, I used the rotate dialog and did a 90 deg turn. Then hid the side part. The incorrect reading (904) is taken at the bottom of the drawing and the correct one (822) is taken at the top. There were other readings also incorrect, for instance the thickness of the material is reported as 363mm (on the right hand bottom). It could be that some weird points are grabbed because of the 3d measauremens. I have always used 3d measurements because I found that if the cabinet is slighty skewed then the 2d measurements give incorrect values.
Thanks for looking into this. I shall post as soon as I had a chance to change to 2d dimensioning.
Ok, I tried the 2d and it worked fine. It is still wierd that the 3d would grab a point at the other side of the cab. If you take the measurements of square 828 plus square 326 (width of the door) and you take the square root of that, you get to 904 (rounded 903.6747)
So, once again it shows one that you must always check and double check!
My Father-in-law always said when he taught me - measure three times and cut once!
