Shape Manager is messed up.....

Post by Mike Seisser »

I can't directly input coordinates without them getting screwed up. In Line Mode I type 2 5/8, 0 and it starts the line at 1/4,0 If I type -2 5/8,0 it starts the line at -1/4,0 If I enter my coords in decimals instead, it seems to be OK. I've never had this problem before, it seems to have reared it's ugly head with the latest release. I've got the software set up to use inches/fractions, and don't feel like memorizing 3-place decimals for every fraction I use. It's frustrating. :wall:

Also, I've been trying to create a library of resizeable doors for both display purposes and shop drawings, building tools that represent all the different shaper cutter profiles I offer. Before the recent build release, I was able to profile the rails and stiles perfectly, showing copes and everything (using a faceframe cab with all but the faceframe/back deleted). Since the new build, any profiles I create coping and sticking tools for can't both be used on the same piece. Meaning, if I run the sticking .tol profile along the rail edge, I can't run the cope along the perpendicular ends. Or vice versa. I did discover that tools made B4 build 2 still allowed me to do this, but any tool I've made since will NOT allow it. Part Editor and/or Shape Manager seem to have regressed.

Anyone else notice some more general flakiness in this area?

When in the shape manager type in 2 5/8\",0 and it will place it in the correct spot. You must place the inches symbol in for it to calculate correctly. If you have any questions feel free to call me at 1-800-533-6901 ext. 227

Thanks for the workaround, I'm hoping you can fix that one though. By the way, why don't we have to include the " in Contour mode in Part Editor? And why don't we have to include the " with the decimal equivalent or for a whole number?

Also, I'm uploading my .tol files hoping you can take a look at them. (Referring to my original post.)

Thanks,

Mike
