Line Drawing Editor - editing text in Notes mode
In Line Drawing Editor, I can't seem to get the text edit function to work in either the Notes or the Insert Leader functions. I have read closely the pop-up instructions for those functions, and do what they instruct, but have no success. The instructions are \"while holding Shift, left click on the Text then backspace or type\". I do that. Doesn't work.
Is there some particular mode or function that I should be in to be able to edit a Note? (For instance I have learned that you can't rotate a line drawing editor object unless you are in one of the dimensioning modes. That wasn't documented in the help section or in the eCabs Made Easy book. Do I have a similar situation in the edit Notes or edit Insert Leader functions?
Thanks.

When you take the cabinet into the LDE, you will click on the insert leader Icon and then click on which ever part of the cabinet you want this leader to attach to. Drag this out until you have the desired length of the leader. Next click on the Text Icon and then click on the screen where you want to place the text at. If you have any questions feel free to call me at 1-800-533-6901 ext 227 Thank You

Justin: Your reply explained how to create text. I don't have any problem doing that. Its when I want to change (edit) the text that I have already created, to correct a typing error or whatever. I just cannot seem to successfully enter the edit text mode. Also, in your reply to my original question, you said to click on the Text Icon. Which Icon is that, I can find none that are label as Text Icon.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Look at the attached image to go along with these steps:
1. Make sure text is not selected (hit Escape)
2. While holding shift, move cursor over text. It will turn magenta.
3. While still holding the shift key, click the left mouse button. The text will turn blue.
4. Backspace to the point you want to correct. Text will be erased as you backspace.
5. Enter new text.

Now that I have experimented with this for a time or two I found that the KEY is to be in text mode.
Also for those of you who do a lot of LDEs for the shop drawings. You may want to consider creating a document in your job file that you readily have access to . In this document create title words, paragraphs or even standard instructions the way you want it to appear in the LDE. Now highlight the verbage hit Ctrl C and go to e_cabinets LDE and while in text mode click where you want the text and hit Ctrl V to paste the clipboard. e_cabinets will begin to type the clipboard on the screen.

Re:
Mike that's a great idea, as the text input/edit functions in the LDE aren't very intuitive, if not downright neanderthal. What I have also done in the past is dimension my drawings, place all the callouts, then save the whole thing as a .PDF and input my text in Adobe. (Mostly because the text is 100x sharper than what you get from the LDE.)Michael Yeargain wrote:Now that I have experimented with this for a time or two I found that the KEY is to be in text mode.
