I operated my business for the first two years with three e_machines. And to this day still have all three. I have had a really good experience with the e_machines and would recommend them still to this day for some one who is on a budget or for someone who doesn't have a huge production demand.
I'm sure the current e-Machines off the shelf will do well for a start up computer and would not hesitate to buy another. However, with my current production demands an e_machine will probably keep me in knots or maybe even working more overtime than I can afford.
Most of my jobs without LDEs are well over 10 Megs. And the only display objects in any of mine are about 5 corbels. In fact, I don't even have the appliances in them.
And, on another observation note. I usualy save a 2nd file with all the walls and layout in the LDEs then I delete all the cabinets.
The guys and gals at Thermwood are currently working to improve these areas.
All in all greg, Im glad you have a system that works for you. It is nice to see the various specs from various people that work. It helps others decide on what's best for them and their budget.

Sounds like you run some pretty good size jobs, congrats. Most of my bigger jobs are commercial subbed from a shop I used to run, so they provide the drawings. I've been in business for 3 1/2 years and am broadening my clientele base, the reason I got e-cabs is to help compete in the high end residential market. It helps allot having a tool like e-cabs.
back to the subject, I am in no way downing the super computers or bragging on my budget system, just putting some info out there about how I survive. Hope to one day own one of those super computers and a ferrari, or maybe a Ford GT, but for now I'll have to keep pinching where I can.

I hope I didn't sound like I was brow beating the smaller shops or systems (budget or high dollar). Please forgive me if that's how it sounded.
None the less This is the purpose of e_cabinets systems. Your system works for you. And that is great. Without a doubt. I know e_cabinets works on the EMachines Because I still own a few running e_cabinets.In fact the one I'm on now is an EMachine.
Truth be known Greg, I might have been able to shop around for a better deal. But, my production need surpassed the financial concern by a huge margin. I now have more work than I can handle and I'm now considering opening a door shop to supply my doors. These door companies (although they have great products) just can't keep up.
I order too many to have to wait on a two - three week turnaround time. Nearly every job in the past two months has been 60-70 doors and drawer fronts. In fact we just received another door order yesterday 76 doors and drawer fronts.
I need to get my doors in 1 week. It takes me and my business partner with a crew of 4 (2 part time) to put out 150 Lft of solid 3/4\" ply cabinets, old world finish 2 1/2 weeks installed. Hand made table saw. delta 13 bit manual line bore machine. 20\" grizzley planner and drum sander three or four shapers. Noting major and I do not owe a thing on my shop tools. No CNC yet. I'll wait to pay cash for that too. I am in no hurry.
When I recieve a purchase order (usually Friday go figure) They call the following week Tuesday wondering why we're not out there installing. That ever happen to you?
Kudos to you Greg and I hope you get the clientel you need to support your dreams. The lake is looking good right now. And 4th July is right around the corner.

Not at all , I thought I was the one sounding huffy. I'm just not like that there are to many bad eggs in the world without me being one... I too own all my own tools, cash.. My set up sounds sim. delta 13, table saw shop and a new, real edgebaner ( my dream car will have to wait), I do a good bit of comercial casework as well as some upper end homes. I'm set up for woods or laminates and for now buy my doors as it is more cost effective at this time. My shop is pretty small 2,000 sq. ft. so you have to decide on tools or floor space. Are you near that big lake on the border?
