Joe,
I am no expert but the device manager looks at some of the dual core processors like they were two separate processors. I bet it has something to do with this.
if u have a newer system it is posible to have 2 grafic cards conected in a serial mode on a new chipset
this is very nice
now u can get 2 smaller grafic card for a lot chiper the a big one, and have a lot better performance
If i could comment on the graphic card, i'm running with two Radeon X-1600 pci express with a Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700(4 Hyper trading), 2 Crucial Ballistix Tracer Dual Channel 2048MB PC8000 DDR2 1000MHz Memory and a mother board Asus P5W64 WS Pro Intel Socket 775 ATX with a Corsair COOL Water Cooling Kit for Socket 775/A Processors! I can tell you that i spent a bit on my machine but since i'm running two screen at a time and doesn't have the to wait for it to calculate and show the results!!!
I would say that it pushed the speed limit to the max!!!
The problem is that i'm still paying for it!!!!!LOL
First, your chipset needs to be able to recive two GPU, second, you must have big power supply (each good GPU is from50 to 100-or more wats), third, you must have open slot on the computer, and fourth, the GPU must be able to recive another GPU.
Most of the Core 2 Duo and VISTA computers are prewired for this, but you can get a XP to do the same.
Usually, two GPU's computers are monster gaming machines, which you do not need for eCabs.
But, if you still want to put it on, check if your computer passes all requirements, and buy second GPU. The wire to conect GPUs together shoulb be included with the card.
It's also important to have both GPUs the same, and don't get too crazy about it, cause GPU can cost several thousand dolars.
And all this does is improve grafics.
I would sugsest not to do this a least until eCabs get on VISTA!!!
I have a nVidia, Quadro FX 4500, 512MB dual VGA or DVI. This has two DVI outputs, and my monitor has two DVI inputs. Does this mean I can run two cables to it?
