Closed Contours in Part Editor

Post by Shannon Snyder »

Hello

I was wondering what the secret is to closing a contour in part editor? I am trying to make rounded and arced countertop edges. I am going into the contour and inputting the points for a three point arc, but then when I go back into part editor and try to pocket the contour, it says that it isn't a closed contour. Any suggestions would be appreciated...

Thanks

Shannon,
Take your countertop to the editor. Go into contour mode. Right click with your mouse and select 'Create Edges' (at the bottom of choices)
This will create a closed contour around all your edges. Next click on fillet tool and select the radius of your fillet. Now click on a line close to the corner. The colour will change to green. Click on the perpendicular line and you should get a round corner. If you cant see it, zoom in by either using the '+' or press and hold ctrl and click and hold your left mouse button, drag a square around the area you want to zoom into. click on 'reset' to reset your view. Repeat the clicks on the other corners. Once satisfied, exit contour mode and then right click and select 'Create part using closed contour'. Click anywhere on the contour line that you have around the countertop. Click on next and then on return.
