I have changed some materials in sheet stock to represent 1x material for easier use for me. However, it appears that ecab will not nest material that is not 4x8 or whatever. Am I correct or do I have another problem
Thanks
thanks for the reply. What I am designing are cabinets made all out of 3/4\" material in 1x4, 1x6, etc. In cases where the software is expecting the use of board stock it nests correctly but since I designated sheet stock as 1x4x96 so that it would show how many pcs of 1x I need but it won't nest at all.
That is a limitation for this part of the software. The panels material needs to be larger than the panel itself. Blade kerf and shank diameter are needed in the size as well. This is designated as sheet goods. The Lumber goods will nest so long as the parts are smaller than the lumber.
In otherwords, it will not use 12- 2\" W pieces to form a 24\" W panel.
Joe,
eCabinets assumes that you are cleaning the factory edge on sheet stock. If your saw kerf is 1/8\" then it will automatically take this amount off one edge and one end for this process. If you want to nest full width, make your sheet stock over sized by your saw kerf. For a 4X8 sheet and a 1/8\" saw kerf you would have a 48 1/8\" X 96 1/8\" sheet. As Michael stated the software will deduct for all saw kerfs for cuts also.
