Z axis motion on pockets

Post by Sean O' Hare »

I have a problem with the machine not making the correct Z-axis movement to cut pockets. It moves in X & Y, but Z is daylight distance above the workpiece. It started in the middle of a job, and just applies to pockets. Outline cut motions are as they should be.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sean,

It sounds like the Daylight value for tool being called to perform Pocket cuts, is not entered in the Tool Manager of the Thermwood control (F10, F9, F2). You can look in the SETTINGS of Control Nesting, under the Pocket tool setup, to find the dia. of tool being used for pocketing operations.

Hope this helps.
