Display inset doors

I am building a kitchen with inset doors. How do I get eCabinets to display these? Thank you.

Welcome to the forum, Reed.

I attach an image that pretty much shows the settings I selected to yield the inset doors in the upper cabinet in the screen shot. Please remember, any changes you make to the settings, apply to all doors you add AFTER you make the changes, NOT to existing doors. The same thing applies to many things within the program.

The steps I took are as follows:

1. Right-click in the work space and select Construction Settings
2. Select the Add Door/Drawer Settings tab
3. Change the default values for the door to 1/16, -1/8, or whatever you wish the door-to-frame gap to be
4. Change the door inset value to the thickness of the material, plus any other value by which you wish to inset the doors. If you want them flush, then this value must be the stock thickness.

Existing doors and drawer fronts can be changed by entering the Door/Drawer Editor then clicking to select the doors/drawers before going into Construction Settings.

The image below shows the results I get when changing the door settings on existing doors in the Door/Drawer Editor:

1. The door dimensions change, and fit within the face frame.
2. But the doors are not inset, as the image shows.

The doors are inset only if I remove the existing doors and add new ones within the Door/Drawer Editor. I wonder if this is a new problem with Build 4?

Hmmm...not only that Al, but the inset input box is grayed-out and displays 0\" no matter what the inset is actually set at.

Okay, someone tell me I'm not losing my, uh, oh yeah, my memory and that insets could be changed on existing doors in previous versions.

Correct, Dan. Once the overlaps are set and the dialog box is closed, but still within the door/Drawer Editor, de-select everything, right-click and select Construction Settings once more. NOW you can specify the door inset.

If anything is selected, THEN the Door Inset box is greyed out.

My thought: This is probably a safer way of changing settings on doors and drawers for newbies like me.
