End panel doors

Post by Gene Davis »

When doing a room layout, what is the technique for using the software to place a door against an end cabinet, to function as a finished end?

We have been using doors at 13/16\" finished thickness, and to have a finished end door edge flush to cab finished fronts, buy doors at 7/8\" wider than cab depth.

What features of the software are used to specify and model those doors, and what does it take to get them to be included in the buy list?

Hi Gene,

From the room layout, double-click to highlight the cabinet, then right-click and go to Adjust Cabinet Features, Cabinet End. From there you can select the door, which end(s) it goes on, and any insets you may want. Remember, you can use negative insets to make the door bigger than the cabinet end if necessary. It will show up in the buy list or cut list, depending on how the door you select was saved.

Or you can add a panel in the cabinet editor by right clicking and selecting load item, from there select doors/drawers, make your selection click ok hilite the door then you can manipulate it as you wish. (rotate, align to zero) HTH
