how to use customer 3D files

I downloaded a 48\" wide wide hood and am having trouble accessing it .When down loading an item, I am asked if I want to open or save. Where do I save it to? And after saving, how do I bring it into detail room? I hope this is not too dumb a question or has been asked before, I did do a search and could-not find an answere, David Werkheiser

Save it anywhere on your pc.
Go to the Display Part Editor and load in the file.
Now save it into a directory of your choice (Such as Sample_HSFs). This will create the .jpg file that needs to accompany it.
