Resize vanity false drawerfronts
I am only a few days into this software, so bear with me.
I created a vanity sinkbase, with false drawerfronts applied to a front stretcher, the drawerfronts aligned to a pair of doors below. This is a frameless design.
Not figuring a way to make the drawers within the cabinet, I loaded them into an assembly, and now have the assembly I want.
But, if I want a vanity of a different width, I have to start over with the drawer-less cab, then resize, then save the resize, and bring in new drawerfronts into an assembly.
Is there a workaround, so that I can build and save the cab with drawerfronts, say 30 wide, then resize it as required, with the drawerfronts changing per width requirements?

Gene,
The same way that you add a door to an opening, you add a drawerfront to an opening. (sorry I am not on my e-cabs computer otherwise I would have shown you!)
You define only the drawerfront and do NOT include a drawerbox.
Once that is done, the drawerfront will resize together with your cabinet. No need for an assembly.
BTW if you do add a drawer front by loading it as an item and then moving it into position, you can associate it to the cabinet by left-double-click on the cabinet (the cabinet outlines turn green). left-click once on the drawerfront (it gets a diamond mesh green on it) Now right click and look for 'associations' and then associate to cabinet. This would also then be a 'normal' cabinet and not an assembly
Hope this helps

"If it works, don't fix it"

Aye, but here's the rub
My vanity sinkbase design has a big broad stretcher across the front, on which we will fix the drawerfronts.
The problem is that the software needs an \"opening\" in which to orient a drawerfront, and there's none here. Thus the need to import (\"Load\") in a drawerfront and place it with the alignment tools. And then that drawerfront is not parametrically tied to an opening, so it cannot resize if the cab gets stretched or shrunk.
Got a workaround?

Hey Gene,
You liked my sink base design I see... You do not have to add a drawer front. The software will not recognize the strecher in the door/drawer editor. Notice when you light up the opening it will show the whole opening like there was not a strecher there. manually adjust your door height to whatever you want it to be,make sure it laps the strecher by at least a 1/4\", the strecher is also the door stop. you can then light the opening up again and add the drawer front. You can also do it just the opposite add the drawer front, with top reveal you want, manually set it to the width you want, and set to adjust bottom, then add your door. It will all resize correctly in width, as with many cabinet designs though, you have to be careful with changing heights, I have one designed for each height I need.

Now do a double!
Michael, I have gone back and seen how in eCab, I can do what you are talking about. And yes, I liked your design. Thank you.
My problem is that I want a PAIR of false drawerfronts, aligned to the pair of doors below, and I would like them to be parametric, that is, change width as do the doors, if I size up or size down the sinkbase.
There are a couple different workarounds, but I'll bet neither will work when I want to resize the cab's width in an installation.

Gene.
Try this cabinet. I used a 1/16\" thick sheet stock called divider (that you will not cut) to make a fixed shelf and partition using butt construction to define the opening. You will probably have to adjust your drawer reveals.

This will work also Gene, just delete the drawers and disregard the partition in your cut list.

Thanks!
Kudos to Kerry, Rick, and George for giving me three different ways to skin the cat.
Since I had set my mind on the big broad stretcher oriented up-down across the front, I chose the method suggested whereby a divider shelf and partition, made of some 1/8 stock I created and called \"1/8 divider\" were placed to define the two openings for drawers.
What I found interesting, is how the software has a problem doing the shelf and partition work, if the front up-down stretcher is already created. The stretcher, if in place, blocks the upper opening, so I cannot place the partition. So, I deleted my stretcher, placed the partitions, then did the stretcher placement again.
Everything works as desired.
Now, you gurus of eCab, come up with a workaround for my little dilemma of placing pull-out-trays (inside drawers), stacked up inside a tall pantry cab. I can do it, but my solution has no elegance.
