I'd like to see the shelf editor add a fixed shelf at specified depths. This would allow resizing the depth of cabinet without redoing the fixed shelf properties.

I use a 3 1/2\" stretcher between drawer boxes, but if I change the depth of the cabinet I have to change the inset values then change the depth.

Most of my boxes can be re sized while placing it into a room, but I still have to take it to the editor to change this fixed shelf. If I change the cabinet depth equal or less than the width of the fixed shelf the software ignores the change.
