Cannot edgeband the stretcher

Post by Gene Davis »

See the attached pic. I built a vanity base, and to back up the two false drawerfronts, located a 7\" stretcher across the front top.

I want to be able to edgeband the bottom edge of the stretcher, but it is not appearing in the edgeband breakdown list. All other parts are there, including the fixed shelf and partition done in DO NOT CUT material, used to trick in the drawerfronts.

What's up?

You cannot edgeband stretchers as of now.

So what do you do to ensure quality?

(By quality I mean the accuracy and integrity of communication from designer to shop floor.)

I know that I can write by hand, \"edgeband one edge of stretcher,\" but is that how it is done?

I would say it depends on your operation and persons in the shop. You can rename the part to front or drawer stretcher and the guys will know to band this part.

Hi Gene,
We run in to this on a couple cabinets, I just use the rename part feature and put a note on the label, of course I only have 5 guys and only a couple of us run the bander, so its not a a major deal for us.
