Conestoga Drawer Boxes

Post by Jay Arkuszeski »

Planned to order some Conestoga drawer boxes from the Member store, but there is no description of the drawer side thickness as ordered.

Lots of specs for finish, material species, etc. but there is no spec for the thickness of the drawer box sides.

The drawer box side thickness is critical for the hardware, sizing as well as the specs for the client.

Did I just miss the spec, or is it missing?

Thanks

Jay,
I think all of the solid wood drawer boxes are 5/8\" with a choice of a 1/4\" or 3/8\" bottom.
The plywood boxes are 1/2\" sides.
Someone can correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks, Kerry.

I checked at Conestoga's website, and it appears that you're right. Their solid wood drawer boxes use 5/8\" material for the sides.

I have dealt with Conestoga off and on for years, and they used to have other options for drawer sides, and since it's not spec'd out on the Member store site, I wasn't sure what the actual material is.

Material thickness makes a big difference with drawer slides like Blum Tandem.

Hello Jay,

Thank You for pointing that out. I have made the changes to the webstore to showing the material thickness. It is 5/8\" thick.

Thank You,

Thanks Eric

Ordered the drawers Saturday night after checking Conestoga's website.

But at least now it's corrected.

I guess you guys can't work late on the weekends like some of us goofier woodworkers :D
