Blank Nesting Diagrams

Post by Nick M Singer »

Just drawn a job in exactly the same way as any other, and everything looks fine in the layout or in the cabinet editor but when I generate the nesting diagram it is blank. I have attached a cutlist in PDF format and you will see that some of the sheet stock is in large negative quantities.

Nick,

In times past I have had this happen, but because I don't own a router I never saw the nested diagram. I think I had to remake the cabinets that showed this attribute. I remember it was a pain.

A pain indeed Mike! looks like I am going to have to redraw the whole kitchen, it does not generate the CNC code.

I wonder if one of the e_cabinet systems files are corrupt. I can't recall when it stopped. And, I haven't had that problem in a long time. I couldn't tell you if it even stopped as a result of a new build or not. Sorry.

My computer has no memory problems... I do.

I did finally manage to mail the file off but in the meantime I did a sheetstock and door/drawer material change and Hey Presto the nesting is back!

I Too have just noticed this problem. I've just started paying attention to the nesting feature as I plan on getting a router soon ( Hopfully sooner than later ) So I tried what Nick said, Change Sheet stock . ( I selected 1 of 5 sheet material types in the job and changed it to the same material that was currently being used ) Now when I nest it works !!
This particular job has been saved in 3 different revisions. When I checked the first version the Nesting worked fine but when I first tried to nest the 3rd revision the Nesting stoped after displaying searching for duplicate parts ..
