Detached Toe, more filler questions

Post by skip fritz »

Thanks for all the help so far !
1. when making a \"cab\" to use as filler on a framless application must I create a 3\" deep cab with onlt one side and then turn it and then mark it as a finished end?
2.Must I add detached toe as a separate item underneath my cabinets or will it automaticall be calculated into mt cut list?

Skip,

I have found that if you make a 3\" deep cabinet and set it in the room, it will not be in it's proper location with the coresponding cabinet.

For example my frameless cabinets to the front of the cabinet body is 24\". With the door is 24 3/4\" so I make my filler cabinet 24 3/4\" deep but I inset the left or right end 20 1/2\" from the back. This will make the left or right end 3 1/2\" deep plus the face frame thickness of 3/4\". When I place this cabinet filler in the room, it places the filler exactly at the right distance from the wall where I need it.

The image above shows my filler at 38 7/32\" away from the wall behind the blind corner.

If I select \"free style\" method then \"move object\" I will enter the calculations like this... (38 7/32)-(24). This will se the move incrament exactly the right amount to shift the filler against the blind corner.
