Excel explanation

I understand that I can take a cutlist and transport it to an excel file or something like that. The trouble is that I don't know what this means, but it sounds interesting. Have I got to have some other kind of software to do this? And just what am I accomplishing by doing this?

Neal, it does mean you need another program. Microsoft Excel is the name of the program. You can buy it separately or as part of a bundle with Microsoft Office. It is a program that, after you create the spreadsheet, you can sort, edit and manipulate the data many different ways. Some people find it helpful.
