create tool

Post by Damon Nabors »

It has been awhile since I used this function, but went in and clicked create tool, made my design, turned the shape green to make sure all lines are connected. Saved the file. The proplem is it saves the file as a *x_t and then I can not get them to come up in the shape manager. The other tools I have saved are *tol files. What am I forgetting here or doing wrong??? :?:

Thanks for your help,

Damon

Ok, I got it figured out , but if I use a curved line, to try and make a crown molding , I can not trim the two lines nor will they extend to connect them.
What do I do in this case :?: :?: :?: (The contour is not closed, straight lines and circles do ok , but not curved)

Thanks,
Damon

You can not use splines to create a tool.

The best way to create a tool is to use lines and arcs. You will have to trim them all and make sure the contour is closed to create the tool. If you have any questions feel free to call me at 1-877-880-4638 ext. 227

Thank You
