Changing height of cabinets

Post by Michael Yeargain »

Here's an idea for the height issue, but it has a potential problem if doing this adjacent to other cabinets.

I had a customer who wanted 38\" counter tops. Not a problem so much because I charged a mint for the job. I had to resizing the cabinets and each one I had to take to the editor and re adjust the cabinet openings to accommodate my standard dimensions.

After the job was installed I came up with this solution and it will work in some instances But like I said some cases it won't work...

Here it is. Simply adjust the height of the toe kick the difference of the cabinets. 5 1/2\" toe kick is acceptable. My standard is a 3 1/2\" toe kick, if I added 2\" to the height of my toe kick I can increase the height of my cabinet and the doors and drawers will remain constant. Without going through the painstaking task of removing adjusting and reapplying doors and such...

On the other hand decreasing 2\" will not work because a 1 1/2\" toe kick will not work.

Hope this helps until the programmers implement the locked drawer opening I keep begging for.

I also would like to be able to lock specific opening heights or widths so they won't change when the cabinet is resized. Maybe this is already possible, and I don't realize it.

Jon,

It is not possible as of this version... but...

This has been requested so many times, and from what I have been told it was passed on to the programmers. And of course these things take quite a bit of time and resources to build.
