Data1.cab error

I just received my software and am trying to install it. When I do so, it seems to get most of the way done, but then I get an error message that says Data1.cab is either corrupt or unreadable. I then copied all the files to my pc and did the setup, but got the same error. Do I need a new CD? Did I do something wrong?

Does the CD have any scratches on it?

Did you try cleaning the CD very good?

Sometimes this will cause the error.

I want you to palce your cd int he cd rom and open windows explore. Go to your D drive and check whats on that cd, see if there is a Data1.cab file. Let me know what you find out. If you have any questions feel free to call me at 1-877-880-4638 ext. 227.

Sorry for the delay, been on the road. The Data1.cab file is there. I didn't notice any scratches on the CD either. Is there a way I can get shipped a new one install CD?

I am running Windows XP, SP2. AMD Athlon XP 2500. 512 MB Ram.

I didn't receive the file. What address did you send it to?

the 512MB RAM may be a problem. Isn't that the minimum it needs to run. If resources are scarce you may be short on memory.

That could very well be a problem.

But the install said \"Data1.cab is either corrupt or unreadable\". Which leads me to believe that the file is corrupt.

The software should install on the computer and run, but it will not be quick. You have a 1.83 GHz chip and this just is sufficient, but you will definitely need to upgrade the graphics.

My suggestion in the computer arena is to buy another one. But this is always a challenge when starting out with any software. You will need to justify the cost.

I have found the Emachines to be very good as a starter computer. I found one at Office max for $600.00 that was just the box, no monitor mouse or keyboard, and it works great for the money.

It is a T6410 AMD Athlon (64) 3200+
2.19GHz, 1Gig RAM (I added 512)
It also sports a MSI radion XPRESS 200 series graphics card

Now the T6410 I'm sure is no longer available new in stores. But there is something on that line.

Another thing is; Thermwood does not support the 64 bit version, but I have had absolutly no problems whatsoever with this machine.

By the way: the DELL mentioned in my title block was almost 5K

The PC specs mentioned above bring up a question. I am a small business (run out of my garage for now), and am using my home pc. I was thinking about getting a laptop dedicated to my business. Are there any specs I should look for in a laptop to run this software?

Go to http://www.ecabinetsystems.com and click on the software link on the left hand side. Here you will see a link called Recommended Systems. Click on that and you'll see what ecabs recommends for a laptop system.

In your BIOS set your cd rom to PIO mode. That worked for me.
