Advise best mortise/tenon clearance spec

Post by Gene Davis »

For blind tenon joinery when working in MCP, please advise the clearance that works best for you.

Furthermore, if I have my whole library of cabs done with the clearance set to the 1/100\" clearance, what is the best procedure to use to reset everything, if for example I want to move to 2/100\" or something else.

Will it have to be done part by part in the cab editor, or can I go into the cab editor and make a global change in the main specs page.

Gene,
This is one of the things that you should be asking your cutting guy. I would advise you to pick some one and work with them on your settings as there are many you will need to know to make things work well for your and our cutting guy. With that said, I have settled on one number for both vcp and melamine. I use .015 fit clearence, .020 depth clearence. You can take your cabinet into the editor and go to global settings and get them all at once. Some parts in some cabinets might require special treatment such as partitions and the like.
