Is this a known issue?

Create a batch of cabinets. Check your Cost Listing. Note the number of sheets of plywood. Now perform a nest on the batch. Note the number of sheets of plywood. Without leaving the Nesting Diagram area, click on Cost Listing again. Note the number of sheets of plywood this time.

I have a batch of 32 cabinets, roughly 1/2 base cabs and 1/2 uppers and my number of sheets varies by 20 sheets!!! (64 sheets using Cost Listing only, 44 sheets after I do a nesting diagram.) Significant $$ difference in my selling price.

That the way it works Mike, you need to nest to get an accurate price. I believe e-cab sees each cabinet as a \"job\" until you nest them together. Say you have two cabinets that require half a sheet each, it will call for two sheets until you nest the parts together, then it will call for only one.

That's right Joe. I had one a month ago that called for 42million some odd sheets. It was some crazy amount. I was told to nest first and then you can cost it out. Not sure why but that is the way to do it.

Oh well, if I don't land either of those last 2 proposals, I'll know why. However, if I do, I'll have to consider raising my prices..........

Before nesting costs are based only on the total number of square inches for each cabinet, with a 4x8 sheet being 4608 square inches, since the software has no way to know how the parts will be arranged at this point.
