Noobee with a few questions

Post by John Roberts »

Hi everyone, I just loaded the software and have been playing for about 4-5 hours and am trying to figure out some of the cumbersome pieces of this software. This my first attempt. The problem I'm having is I want to make the face frame flush with the bottom of the cabinets for entertainment centers, etc. The other thing I'm running into is what should I be saving my custom parts as, so that I may pull them and attach them to pieces I'm working on? Also how do I do that? :D
I'm looking at attending the seminar in CA in Dec. I hope it will be useful in learning more about this software.

Thanks for any help,

John

To get the bottom rail flush with the deck, set the \"deck float\" in Construction Settings for face frames.

Custom parts are saved as assemblies.

If you are doing toe-less you need to do a deck inset under deck from the construction settings.

So it depends on what you need to accomplish.

I understand, But as with most customers, and I have had many very picky ones in the past, the deck inset below the top of the bottom rail would not be acceptable. Maybe not in every case, but in some. Making the deck flush with the top of the bottom rail is an option and should be given.

He may come back and ask \"how to flush the bottom rail.

True...Maybe I misintrepreted the question to begin with.

I agree with you on having the deck lower that the bottom rail...it just don't work well in real life (although we've all seen it before).

Yea,

I've worked in the industry for many years, like so many of us here, and I started my own business with these practices. Not ashamed to admit it. But, I have come to learn that some of the finer made cabinetry built flush like furniture; always makes a nice statement. :P

I quickly graduated and ultimately fell in Love with Frame less cabinets.
