Good morning, everyone. We've just recently got our CS45 up and running, and ran into a strange problem last night. I've cut out several single cabinets or small jobs, but now I've designed a bookcase job in ecabs and loaded and nested it at the control. The CNC code writes just fine. The initial operation of the program is to drill the shelf pin holes.
The problem I'm having is that the only initial movement on the Z axis in the code is +0.375, and then it starts the drill operation by plunging -0.375, moving to the next hole, etc. Only problem is that the router is still about 8 inches or so above the work piece! X and Y move to the correct location, but I can't figure out what Z is doing. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Have I done something in ecabs that might cause this? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Why is it doing that???

Todd,
similar problem. Here is Ryan's solution.
It sounds like the Daylight value for tool being called to perform Pocket cuts, is not entered in the Tool Manager of the Thermwood control (F10, F9, F2). You can look in the SETTINGS of Control Nesting, under the Pocket tool setup, to find the dia. of tool being used for pocketing operations.
Hope this helps.

Todd,
This certainly does sound like the Daylight value for tool being called to drill holes is not correct or not entered in Tool Manager for tool being called. You will need to find out the actual tool number being called in the CNC program, then go to the Tool Manager and be sure there is a Daylight value for that tool.
