About to write CNC code then this comes up!

Hey Hows all going?

I got a prob when i take this cabinet to batch cabinets and go to write the CNC code.

Its a 4 door cabinet with a fixed shelf thats dadoed into the left and right ends and screwed in to the back.

its the 2nd unit that i've programed like this thats had a prob. 1st unit i was able to just use KD fittings to the shelf.

This unit here i cant add kd fittings cos both ends are seen.

When i write the code after awhile it comes up with "body type unknown for outline edge" then i press "ok" then in the next box it says "not found in sheet stock for the."

Then i have to press ok 5 times for the box to go away.


Any ideas why this is happening?

If you go into the add shelf settings tab within construction setting. Then look in the "fixed shelf construction settings". Your "Right Tennon Back" value is set to zero. If I make this 1.5748" to match the "Left Tennon Back" then re-add the fixed shelf, the problem seems to fix itself. I have attached a reproduction of the cabinet so you can try it yourself. Note: You may want to check the holes for your pulls. I did have to re-add those as well. You can single click a door to select, then take into the constraint manager to adjust the position and diameter. I will report this to our programmers. Thanks!

The reason i make 1 side of the tenon a differnt size is so the shelf can only go 1 way! cos some people put it in upside down if the tenons are the same!

Another odd thing that I noticed was when I nested your cabinet within ecabs, the back of the right end panel had an odd line going from the bottom back corner to the back of the shelf. Then when we zoom it almost looks like the mortise for the shelf tennon is over lapping the mortise for the back panel. I tried a value of .1 for the Right Tennon Back instead of zero and I didn't get the error.

So it looks like you can still do what you want, just don't use a zero.

Not to hijack this thread but I beleive you can even go down as far as .01 or .001. You might want to try that to see if it works.

The fixed shelf is bad you will have to delete it then re add it pulse your doors with the part editor cuts. This will fix your cabinet.
