bottom drawer design

Post by Sam West »

The bottom of my drawer is nailed to the bottom of the sides and back. I use 1/4" MDF and slides called EURO SLIDE that over lap the bottom and gives me plenty of strength. My question is can this drawer be designed in the drawer design editor?
thanks for the help

Parts cut with the CNC?

Parts cut with a saw in a manual operation?

The drawer box editor will do it all for you. Bring in a d'box from the STANDARD directory, then change it, using the CONSTRUCTION SETTINGS, to what you need. Save it in a directory that you might name MY DRAWERBOXES.

The only thing you cannot do, and it has been discussed here recently and requested as an update to the software, is use the part editor on drawerbox parts, such as those one might need for undermount slides (notch and hook hole.)

Sam,

Open the Drawer Box Designer then load one of the Standard Drawer Boxes.

Click on construction Settings then Click the Bottom Tab.

Select the Bottom Flush Radio Button for left side, right side, front, and back.

Select 1/4" MDF as your material.

You can change other materials and construction methods by clicking on the other tabs, left and right sides etc.

Save the new drawer you create under a new name that you will recognize and then use this drawer as the default when you build cabinets.

You can associate the slides you use to this drawer in the Cabinet Assembly Editor using the Define/Add Items area.
